Summer equipment for motorcyclists: protection and comfort without sacrificing safety

Riding a motorcycle in the summer requires specific equipment that combines coolness and protection. In Spain, although only helmets and gloves are mandatory by law, it is highly recommended to use approved equipment to ensure our safety in case of an accident.

Ventilated jacket with windshield: High temperatures require jackets made of mesh fabrics that allow good ventilation. Ideally, they should include a removable windshield to adapt to changing weather conditions. In addition, they must comply with the EN 17092 standard, which classifies fish according to their level of protection, with AAA being the maximum (although we will never find it in a summer jacket).

Technical trousers: As with the jackets, the trousers must be breathable and have protection on the legs and knees. They must also be approved according to standard EN 17092, which ensures resistance to abrasion and impact.

Gloves and boots: Gloves, mandatory according to Spanish legislation, must be light, ventilated and have protection to the fingers and palm, in compliance with EN13594. The cans must cover the neck, offer good ventilation and be made of resistant materials.

ECE 22.06 approved helmet: If you are planning to buy a new helmet, make sure it complies with the ECE 22.06 standard, which includes stricter tests for impact resistance and general safety. In addition, it is important that, if you want to use it during the summer, you look for a helmet with a good number of vents.
