The Dax ‘Furiosa’, a customization with a “post-apocalyptic” touch, has emerged as the winner of the 4th annual Honda Customs contest with an impressive 34% of the votes.
The ‘Manjushage’, an elegant Honda Monkey customized by the talented German team of artists Lanaarts23 and the motorcycle preparation expert Maximilian Zech, came in second place with a respectable 29% of the total. This cafe racer stood out for its two-piece handlebars, a Yoshimura muffler and custom rear shock absorbers with a separate exhaust.
Rounding out the podium, France’s ‘Tokio’, a colorful Honda Monkey created by artist Grems and fabricator George Woodman, took third place with 12% of the votes. This masterpiece presented pop-art visual effects with vibrant colors in abstract patterns, creating a unique explosion of color.
This year, the Honda Customs website showcased seven custom minibikes from seven European countries. Each of these bikes was the result of a creative collaboration between a young artist and an experienced bike builder. The HondaCustoms.com platform received an impressive 41% increase in visits during the summer compared to the previous year, with more than 21,000 people submitting their votes and 5,461 downloading wallpapers of the custom bikes.
The Spanish motorcycle in the competition, the Dax ‘Driving Me Mad’, made by the talented artist Valeria Palmeiro and the builder UFO Garage, stood out for its visual flair full of joy with primary colors and tires with personality.
The seven customized motorcycles were on display at the annual Wheels and Waves festival in Biarritz, France, where they attracted the attention of motorcycle enthusiasts from all over Europe.
Masayuki Hamamatsu, general manager of motorcycles at Honda Motor Europe, highlighted the success of the event and the importance of involving young artists in the creation of unique versions of mini-bikes in order to attract a younger audience to the world of motorcycles.
